Immune System Support

Our office offers a number of different therapies to support your immune system.

Specialty Intravenous Therapy (IV) Infusions

Intravenous therapy (IV) therapy bypasses the gastro-intestinal tract and delivers vitamins, minerals, ozone, chelating agents and other nutrients directly into the blood stream. This therapy is administered dependent upon each patient’s individual condition and customized to each patient.

Benefits of IV Nutrition:

  • Improve your immune system
  • Enhances the healing process
  • Promotes Greater Health
  • Promotes Greater Ability to Absorb

Specialty IV Infusions require serum, blood work to provide safe and effective IV therapies.

IV Vitamin C

Vitamin C has numerous proven benefits treating a variety of health conditions, including viral conditions. It impowers white blood cells (WBC’s) in the immune system to more effectively fight an infection. White blood cells concentrate Vitamin C and when there is an infection produce hydrogen peroxide to use against pathogens such as a virus. Vitamin C provides your WBC’s the ability to better fight an infection.

We offer a number of different Vitamin C IV’s with different ingredients and concentrations of Vitamin C. Since humans are not able to make Vitamin C in our bodies, it is especially important we supplement this highly needed Vitamin to support our immune system.

We offer urine test strips (from the Riordan Clinic) to determine if you’re the Vitamin C in your body is adequate.

IV Vitamin C Infusions require blood, serum testing to provide safe and effective IV therapies.

Ozone O3 Molecule

Ozone/Oxygen intravenous therapies is called Major Autohemotherapy and supports the immune system to fight infections, including viral infections. This intravenous therapy involves removing a small portion of a patient’s blood, placing it in an IV bag of saline and adding an equal amount of Ozone/oxygen. The Ozone/Oxygen immediately combines with the red blood cells in the blood which is then exposed to Ultraviolet light.

This combination of Ozone/Oxygen and ultraviolet light has a long history of treating a variety of health conditions. The biological effects include increased production of white blood cells, increased phagocytosis ability, increase in peroxide count, increase in bacteriocidal capacity of blood and normalization of the immune system.

Both Vitamin C infusions and Ozone/Ultraviolet blood IV are powerful individual IV’s to treat the immune system and even more powerful combined when Ozone/Ultraviolet IV is followed with Vitamin C infusions.

Ozone/Ultraviolet Blood Intravenous Therapy require blood, serum testing to provide safe and effective IV therapies.

Herbal Tinctures

A herbal tincture is a concentrated liquid of one or more herbs made by soaking the bark, berries, leaves (dried or fresh) or roots in alcohol or vinegar. Herbal tinctures have been used for ages to treat diseases and improve health. On an individual basis, there are specific herbal tinctures that can be formulated to support the immune system. Our office has Immune System Formulas to treat illnesses especially when immune system support is needed to protect the body from infectious diseases, including viral infections. Herbal tinctures are anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic and immunomodulating.

Supplements and vitamins

There are many different specialty supplements and vitamins that support the immune system such as multimineral/ multivitamin, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, L-Lysine, Hyper-Immune egg, zinc, selenium, curcumin and probiotics.

Through Functional Medicine testing, we can determine biochemistry and nutrient imbalances and deficiencies that relate to the immune system. Identification of these imbalances allows for specific recommendations customed to each patient. One such test measures 31 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites – and how they affect cellular function in a person.

Bowl of Fruit, Nuts, and Oats

A proper diet is essential to our health and should be the first consideration and treatment for any chronic illness. There are specific dietary requirements and dietary restrictions for different chronic health conditions. After a proper diet, lifestyle is important for the treatment of any chronic illness.

Of course, there are many suggestions involving Diet and Lifestyle to support the Immune System. Some basic recommendations include the following:

  • Get adequate sleep and exercise
  • Eat fresh organic, pesticide-free fruits
  • Avoid allergens or food sensitivities
  • Avoid most sugars and all cow’s milk and dairy products
  • Avoid processed meats such as ham, bacon, frankfurter, corned beef.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages and soft drinks
  • Include joyful activities in your day
  • Decrease your anxiety and stress (sometimes easier said than done).
  • Lose weight which helps the immune and detoxification systems.
  • Stop smoking

Diet and Lifestyle play a critical role in the body’s susceptibility to any illness and its ability to fight viruses. Specific Functional Medicine testing such as Food Sensitivity Testing is available.

Functional Medicine Testing

Vial of Blood

Functional Medicine Testing is personalized medicine that deals with primary prevention and underlying causes instead of symptoms for chronic illness. This testing involves evaluation of organ and body systems rather than looking for a specific disease. Lab tests may examine blood, hair stool, urine or saliva.

Our office offers a number of different functional medicine tests to determine a compromised immune system. One such test identifies immune intolerance, intestinal barrier dysfunction, food, chemical, pathogen reactivity and blood brain barrier integrity.

These powerful strategies and therapies help to identify and effectively support the immune system and provide overall disease prevention.
