What is Menopause?
Menopause is the time in a woman's life when her period stops and it is a normal change in a woman's body as she ages. A woman has reached menopause when she has not had a period for 12 months in a row (and there are no other causes, such as pregnancy or illness, for this change).

Menopause is also referred to as the change of life, the change, or the climacteric and more recently is known as "perimenopause", (literally meaning "around menopause"). It is estimated that 60 million women will reach menopause in 10 years and 50% of all US women by 2015.
